Victoria Blair Burgess (American, b. 1987)

About the artist...

Victoria Blair is a Jersey girl with New Orleans flair. Her universal style uses colors and textures to both calm and excite, resulting in artwork that exudes mood and ethereal ambience. Victoria arrived in New Orleans the same week as Hurricane Katrina. She earned a BA in Art History and Studio Art at Tulane University, but received a bonus education from the city itself.  After witnessing the devastation, she was captivated by the resiliency, unflappable charm and rebirth of the city.

After graduation, Victoria traveled extensively to Europe, South America, even Antarctica, but her heart brought her back to New Orleans. With a wider understanding of the world at large, the vibrancy of her adopted city stood tall in comparison. On frequent bike rides through the narrow streets, lively neighborhoods and parks, Victoria soaks in the natural wonders of New Orleans. Awed by the incredible architecture and local culture, She loves to paint daring sunsets, create lively ceramic houses and make evocative three-dimensional sculptures.

Victoria invites you to consider her work, trusting that it will elicit the same emotional response that stirred her to create each piece.
